Scania have been manufacturing trucks since the early twentieth century. They now make a wide range of vehicles and engines, including lorries over 16 tonnnes, and coaches.
Scania Gearbox
Scania are one of the few OE manufacturers that use solely their own product range on the vehicle drivetrain.The more popular models are the GR900 and the GRS900 both fitted with retarders on some applications. All gearboxes carry a splitter assembly and are full synchromesh on the gear section. Over the latter years some units have been fitted with “Comfort Shifts”, and ECU controlled shift mechanisms. On the PSV side Scania do also produce a range of fully automatic transmissions.
Scania Differential
Once again Scania produce their own axle & drivehead range which is used throughout the model range.
R660’s are fitted on their lighter vehicles, whereas R780 & RB660 models are applied on the heavier trucks.
Scania Power Steering
On the steering side Scania fitted both ZF & TRW to the Series 3 but as they moved to the Series 4 TRW was selected as the preferred supplier.
Many units are fitted with angle drives and we carry all models on stock to offer Service Exchange.
